Growing & Maturing

Vineyard puts a high priority on our need to be constantly learning and growing as Christians. In the New Testament a follower of Jesus was called a disciple, a student, a learner. To be a Christian is to be a disciple of Jesus, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week!

Spiritual maturity involves growth and change from the inside out so that we are not just "talking the talk" but "walking the walk". It is becoming more like Jesus. It is learning to think like Jesus and to act like Jesus. It is a life long process! As we grow and mature, every part of our lives is affected? our attitudes, our speech, our finances. our habits, our behaviors, and our relationships.

The Vineyard recognizes that relationship with other believers is a vital component in our maturity process.

As a church we are therefore committed to providing classes, small groups and conferences that help to provide a relational environment for spiritual growth to take place, and a biblical world view to develop, whether you are a new follower of Jesus or you have been a follower for many years. Classes and small groups will also encourage spiritual habits such as personal prayer and bible study, and a context for mutual encouragement and accountability.

2Class 201 (Maturity)
If you are a member of the Vineyard we encourage you to take the 201 Class which is held every other month at the same time as the 101,  301 and 401  classes. At this class we talk about 4 of the spiritual disciplines, prayer,  the bible, (reading, studying, memorizing, meditating upon, and applying), tithing and fellowship. These disciplines provide a context for personal spiritual growth and maturity to develop. The class is taught by Vineyard staff and ministry leaders.

New Believers
If you have just become a follower of Jesus, or have recommitted your life to Him, we offer several different options for you to begin your growing process Alpha,  Mentoring, and  New Believers Groups.

Small Groups
Small groups are where you can experience the life changing presence and power of God, through encouragement, friendship, support, fun, prayer and accountability. The intimacy of a small group of believers meets needs that the larger group on a Sunday cannot meet, whether the group is studying the bible together, eating a meal together, helping one another with practical projects, serving together, or hiking together.
